Chronology of the Modern Japanese Military to World War II
This book provides a chronology of developments in Japan that contributed to the expansion of the Japanese military from the Meiji Restoration of 1868 to the attack on the U.S. Naval Fleet at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on Dec. 7, 1941. It includes concurrent events in other countries to show the context for Japanese military expansion. Japanese actions in Korea, Manchuria, and China are emphasized. It also includes events in Japanese history prior to 1868 that contributed to the modern militarization of Japan, and major events after 1941 that were caused by Japan's military aggression.

Junior Genreflecting: A Guide to Good Reads and Series Fiction for Children
Published in Hardcover by Libraries Unlimited (November, 2000)
Authors: Bridget Dealy Volz, Cheryl Perkins Scheer, and Lynda Blackburn Welborn
Average review score:

Good source
This book is a good reference for anyone looking for good fiction books for grades 3-8. It is easy to use, it categorizes the books by subject, and it gives a lot of information about the books listed. The only thing it is missing is the price of the books, but that differs depending on where you buy your books anyway. All the books have been reviewed by notable children's literature reviewing periodicals. This book is a great resource for parents, teachers, or librarians.

The Lady: Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress
Published in Paperback by Howell Pr (July, 1993)
Authors: Paul Perkins, Michelle Crean, and Dan Patterson
Average review score:

Clear & attractive pictures of the inside of a B-17
This book is a good look into the inside of a B17. If you have never been inside a B17, you could find your way around after looking at this book. The use of re-enactors in authentic uniforms help you understand what it might have been like to fly into combat during WWII. The accompanying pictures from WWII support the contemporary pictures well. The text provides enough useful information to understand and appreciate the B17 and the air war of the 40's.

MCSE: NT Workstation 4 Study Guide, 3rd edition
Published in Hardcover by Sybex (03 December, 1999)
Authors: Matthew Strebe, James Chellis, and Charles L. Perkins
Average review score:

Good Update for 2nd Edition of this same book
While I own the 2nd Edition of this same book, the 3rd Edition is even better to prepare the MCP candidate for the real exam, 70-073. The MCSE: Study Guides from Sybex/Network Press have been the best to prepare for the MCSE exam. However, I don't just rely on the study guides to pass the exam. The study guide is a good beginning to orient yourself with the material for the exam. Using Transcenders or some other MCSE-approved testing simulation software will be the key to passing the exam. Several IT friends of mine have used Transcenders after reading one of these Sybex textbooks for MCSE study guide material and they went took the real exam and pass it on the first try. In final, I believe that the MCSE: NT Workstation 4 Study Guide, 3rd Edition, is one of the best study guides to prepare for the NT Workstation exam now with adaptive testing engine software to make the real exam experience worthwhile. MCSE NT4 Candidates have less than 7 months to finish the NT4 exams before their retirement this year in Dec. 31, 2000.

The Mind's Best Work
Published in Hardcover by Harvard Univ Pr (October, 1981)
Author: David N. Perkins
Average review score:

Thorough discussion from a scientific point of view
Perkins dares to throw away laymen's theories about creativity, and supports his case with theoretical considerations as well as with examples from reality. Do not expect a simple book. Perkins discusses in great length scientific research in the creativity field, as opposed to the many "creativity cookbooks" you'll find.

My Wild Kingdom
Published in Textbook Binding by Thorndike Pr (Largeprint) (July, 1983)
Author: Marlin Perkins
Average review score:

My Wild Kingdom
I thought that My Wild Kingdom was an excellent written book. He not only writes of facts, but also life experinces he endured during his life with nature. This book at times was boring because it was very detailed, but also enhanced the experience by you could imagine yourself there. He travells to many exotic areas during this book including the Mount Everest region where he looks for the Yeti. I highly reccomend this book.

Nt Network Security
Published in Hardcover by Sybex (February, 1998)
Authors: Matthew Strebe, Charles Perkins, Michael Moncur, and Mark Edwards
Average review score:

Broad and not shallow
This books is for administrators looking to secure an NT Server. It covers a broad base of topics with step by step explaining how to implement the topic. The book details what each setting does and explains it better than the NT resource kit. It is not as detailed as Windows NT 4.0 Security, Audit, and Control by Jumes, Cooper, et al; however, it does cover more topics.

Resurrecting Hope
Published in Paperback by Gospel Light Publications (July, 1995)
Author: John Perkin
Average review score:

Resurrecting Hope offers a ministry model often ignored.
John Perkins impressed his cry to support his 3Rs (reconciliation, relocation and redistribution) on me years ago during a pre-Promise Keepers rally held at a church headquarters on Chicago's Greater Westside. I applaud his drive in making his concern for true reconciliation and accountability of all Christians an international one. I recently met two Christian leaders who expressed the impact John Perkins has had on them. One, a Trinity Evangelical Divinity School classmate, has convinced his wife to relocate into a low-income, high crime area in order to better serve the community to which they minister. The other is a former, drug-addict, who attempted suicide. After being regenerated in Christ, he and his family joined a ministry in Chicago's Lawndale community strongly impacted by John Perkins. He serves as a chaplain for drug addicts seeking deliverance in Christ. Perkins' hope strikes again and again.
